Bullying is considered by many to be the leading cause of low self-confidence. Although nearly every child experiences it, less than 15% of them actually report it. The objective at the Gracie Academy is to teach the children how to defuse the situation with words, how to stand up for themselves, and ultimately how to defeat bullies head-on when the situation calls for it.
Growing up Gracie™
Character Development Program
There are six chapters in the Growing Up Gracie™ Curriculum, each of which features one essential character trait that we are dedicated to instilling in your child. Two months are spent studying each chapter before moving on to the next. During this period we dedicate time in each class to educating your child on the meaning and importance of the featured trait. We also discuss the simple things they can do to make the character trait a part of their everyday life.

Gracie Game Day
Children who show a significant development in their character during each chapter will qualify to participate in the incredibly fun GRACIE GAME DAY! On this special Saturday afternoon, all qualified children get dropped off at the Gracie Academy for 3 hours of nothing but fun and food. The best part about this reward is that your child’s eligibility is entirely based on their ability to earn character development points which are awarded by you, the parent, during each chapter. So don’t be surprised if your child is overly excited about doing their chores!
The Magical Power of Belt Promotion
There is no better way to educate or motivate than through positive affirmation. At the Gracie Academy, belts are awarded in the following order: white, yellow, orange,and green. Our programs are structured so that the children know exactly how many classes they need to attend, what they must learn and how they must behave in order get their next belt promotion. The most important effect this has on the children is that it teaches them that disciplined and dedicated effort ALWAYS brings positive results. As any parent should already know, this kind of persevering mindset will ensure a prosperous school, work, and social life more than any other single factor.
The 3 Age Groups
Little Champs (5-7 Years Old) (Monday and Friday @ 5:30pm)

In this program our objective is to give your child the fundamentals of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu while making every class a fun experience so that the children enjoy attending class every week.
Jr. Grapplers (8-14 Years Old) (Wednesday @ 5:30pm and Saturday @ 12:00pm)
"Empower your child when they need it most"
Bullying is most prevalent in this age group. In this program our goal is to empower each child with the techniques that will enable them to stand up for themselves when the situation calls for it.
Advanced Kids (Tuesday and Thursday @ 5:30pm)
Kids who perfect the Jr. Grapplers techniques and demonstrate excellent discipline and focus will qualify for the Advanced Program. The final objective at this level is to prepare the children for a smooth transition into the Gracie Combatives adult program.
